Saint George Utah Hotels

Located just off Interstate 15 in sunny St. George, Comfort Suites is a first-rate hotel for your stay in scenic southern Utah. The region is a showcase of stunning natural formations, historic sites, and superb cultural and athletic events. The area’s crown jewel is Zion National Park, a renowned spectacle of colorful rock monoliths, forested plateaus, and deep chasms, which lies only 45 minutes east of St. George. Zion’s narrow canyons and stone towers leave visitors in awe at its wondrous display of natural and geological handiwork. A 20-minute drive northwest of your lodging quarters at Comfort Suites will take you to Snow Canyon State Park, a collection of red sandstone rock formations that boasts trails suitable for all levels of hikers. Red Cliffs Recreation Area, 20 minutes east on I-15, is another exhibition of the area’s signature red-rock scenery.

If culture is what you seek, St. George, Utah has plenty of it. Known as “Broadway in the Desert,” the Tuacahn Amphitheater hosts musicals (everything from 42nd Street to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) every spring and summer. Set amidst a backdrop of an enormous red-rock plateau near the entrance to Snow Canyon State Park, Tuacahn lies a short 20 minutes from your hotel room at Comfort Suites. St. George’s cultural offerings also include performances by the Southwest Symphony and St. George Musical Theater, as well as a myriad of events at Dixie State College. For those interested in visual art, visit during Easter Weekend, when the St. George Art Festival comes to downtown. In addition to displaying the work of the region’s top artists, the festival includes live entertainment, food vendors, and special children’s activities.

For the historically minded, Comfort Suites St. George is a hotel close to many enjoyable attractions. Chronicling the natural history of Utah and many other parts of the world, the Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum is located only two blocks from the hotel, adjacent to the Dixie Convention Center. It displays over 200 species of wildlife in a natural-looking diorama. Only 10 minutes from Comfort Suites, St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm exhibits over 1,000 petrified tracks left by prehistoric creatures, mainly the Dilophosaurus. The site also displays many fossilized dinosaur remains. If you are interested in recent history, look no further than two former residences, the Jacob Hamblin Home and Brigham Young Winter Home. LDS missionaries offer free, daily guided tours of these two structures that provide interesting insight into the area’s pioneer heritage.

In addition to these numerous attractions, Comfort Suites St. George is located within blocks of restaurants such as the Cracker Barrel, Tony Roma’s and Claim Jumper, as well as a family fun center and six-screen movie theater. After a day of driving around to see southern Utah’s scenery and historic sites, you will welcome the chance to walk to your next destination after you return to your hotel room at Comfort Suites!
